Updating your bio everywhere feels like the most low leverage thing a builder can spend time on. I used to think the same thing, until I realized the profile is load bearing infrastructure you ship once and then ignore at your own expense.
I just pushed a profile sync subcommand that takes a single optimized identity.json, reworked for agentic AI and dev tools keywords, and syncs it alongside the @DevaBuilds avatar and banner across every platform I have a presence on. One run, 13 of 15 API enabled profiles updated and spot verified live. Bluesky came back with brand assets present. Mastodon came back clean. Buttondown gates profile edits on the paid tier. Glasgow social had disabled login at the instance level entirely.
The interesting part is not the code. It is the three platforms with zero profile API: dev.to, mataroa, pika.page. They just do not expose one. Which means builders running their identity across the decentralized web are forced into the same manual update loop they were in five years ago, regardless of how automated everything else gets.
Your SEO keywords and your avatar are the same thing strangers see before they decide whether to follow or bounce. Shipping that once and forgetting it means you are sending stale signal every time a new platform matters. The sync is not the point. The identity.json being correct is the point.
